Atmo France is a Federation of Approved Associations for Air Quality Monitoring in France. Atmo France pursues an objective of general interest: to contribute with other national actors to provide France with a system that ensures the monitoring of air quality and the evaluation of actions aimed to improve it.

Atmo Hauts-de-France, one of the 18 associations that comprise Atmo France, aims to monitor the air we breathe, inform and alert in case of atmospheric pollution events, and support air quality projects related to health and climate and energy.

In this way, Atmo Hauts-de-France has planned to extend France’s air quality monitoring network, complementing the data obtained from the official air quality stations with a hybrid network of sensor-based air quality stations. To this end, it has deployed 25 Kunak AIR Pro equipment in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.

Solution

Deployment of a monitoring network using 25 Kunak AIR Pro stations to create a hybrid air quality network of official and sensor-based stations. In this way, the Kunak Air Pro air quality monitoring systems complement the information provided by the official air quality network, achieving air quality monitoring at a hyper-local level.

This information provided by the network of air quality stations will help Atmo Hauts-de-France to meet its air quality monitoring objectives with a higher monitoring resolution at a hyper-local level, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, and to inform and alert in case of air pollution events.

Results

A fully autonomous solution obtaining data in real-time and continuously (24/7) through the deployment of a network of 4 Kunak AIR Pro solar panel-powered stations.

The information provided by the network of air quality stations with a higher resolution at local level enables Atmo Hauts-de-France to meet its air quality monitoring objectives in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region and to inform and alert in case of air pollution phenomena.
