Kunak was recently engaged by a major oil and gas Client in Middle East.

As the concession owner for a large oil field, it was essential that the Client was able to comply with the regulatory and their internal monitoring commitments.

In support of their obligations and their commitment to their Stakeholders, they identified the need for continuous ambient monitoring at a newly established production facility.

Kunak Technologies worked with the Client to understand their needs and to identify the right solution for them. The Client settled on the Kunak AIR Pro devices, which are capable of monitoring a number of pollutants and atmospheric parameters simultaneously and in real time.

For this particular Client, the objective was to monitor the impact of emissions on the surrounding community in terms of NO2, SO2, O3, CO and particulate matter levels, allowing the main sources of pollution to be monitored in real-time, ensuring that exceedances were able to be quickly and easily identified and then attended to in a timely manner.

Solution

Kunak deployed an end-to-end monitoring network-based installation of 4 Kunak AIR Pro stations, powered by solar panels, rounded off with online real-time monitoring software accessible from anywhere leveraging 4G.

Kunak was responsible for providing the client with the installation and commissioning of the devices, the calibration of the sensors, and the periodic maintenance of the network.

The monitoring instruments supplied are also equipped with sonic anemometers capable of withstanding the strong gusts of wind that occur in the area.

Results

The client is able to ensure that critical ambient air data points are within the required limits across their concession area and that the data that Kunak AIR Pro provides is verifiable and demonstrates that their operations aren’t deteriorating the surrounding air quality. This ensures that their Stakeholders will continue to have confidence of the Client’s commitment to their health and wellbeing.
